From opium yo commercial wars in the mames of free trade

Opium wars continue in different shapes?

History :

1770-1860

The UK established monopoly over production of opium in India, and export to and sales in China. Concerned with public health effects, China prohibited opium consumption, stopped trafficking and burnt stocks. The UK attacked China in the name of free trade, bombarded Canton and Shanghai and forced commercial trading  concessions and war compensation which indebted China which meant high taxes and UK share of fiscal sovereignty, leading to rigged standards on global trade and economic relations, while UK opium trade and profits continued.

1980-2020 War on drugs

(UK : drug cartels', India : México and Colombia, China : USA)

The drug cartels established monopoly over production of opium in Colombia and Mexico, and export to and sales in the USA. Concerned with public health effects, USA prohibited opium consumption, stopped trafficking and burnt stocks.

What if! : The drug cartels attacked the USA in the name of free trade, bombarded New York and Washington and forced commercial trading  concessions and war compensation which indebted the USA which meant high taxes and drug cartels' share of fiscal sovereignty leading to rigged standards on global trade and economic relations, while drug cartels' opium trade and profits continued.

Other commercial wars in the

XXIst century:

War on human health

The US/agroindustry (linked to big Pharma and patents) established monopoly over production of transgenics and toxic foods in most countries, and export to and sales all over the world. Concerned with public health effects, some countries prohibited transgenics and toxic foods consumption, stopped their trade and burnt stocks.

In retaliation , the USA attacked those countries in the name of free trade, "bombarded" (via marketing) them with transgenic seeds and toxic foods and forced -via the word bank and IMF- commercial trading concessions (and "structural adjustments") and "war" compensation which indebted them which meant high taxes and USA' share of fiscal sovereignty leading to rigged standards on global trade and economic relations, while global human intoxicación continued...

War on planet's health

The US/oil industry established quasi-monopoly (by national production and military power over other major producers) over large part of the world's extraction of oil, export to and sales all over the world. Concerned with planet health effects (global warming), most countries limited use of fossile fuels, and some brave countries stopped its trade and banned oil derivates.

In retaliation , the USA attacked those countries in the name of free trade, "bombarded" (via lobbying) them with oil and fracking gas and forced -via the word bank and IMF- commercial trading concessions (and "structural adjustments") and "war" compensation which indebted them which meant high taxes and USA' share of fiscal sovereignty leading to rigged standards on global trade and economic relations, while oil extraction and consumption continued and global warming destroyed life in the planet, including human life..
